Ball on a Stick is a collaboration between me and my friend Danielle Sweet.
Our goal for this project was to attempt to make the most ridiculously simple game we could think of, and still make it fun and visually engaging.
The premise of the game is pretty much self explainatory. You have a ball, and a stick, and you balance the ball on top of the stick. The goal is to try to keep it there for as long as possible, using the accelerometer in your Smartphone or Tablet to carefully tilt the stick. When the ball falls off the stick, the game is over. See? Simple.
But not as simple as you think. You never know what could happen next.
The Game Ends when the ball hits the ground
The game includes opt-in advertising as it's monetization strategy. Players get an extra boost in Gold Orbs in exchange for watching ads if they so choose. The player is never forced to watch an ad.
Gold Orbs are used to unlock new balls.
The game allows you to adjust the volume of the ambiance and sound effect tracks, as well as adjust the size of the ball.
Adjusting ball size allows you to control the difficulty of the game.
You can also select which ball you want to use, and even buy new balls if you have enough Gold Orbs.
